Cold Hearted Snake was a Bands of America Grand Nationals Semi-Finalist.

The Miamisburg Viking Marching Band completed a fantastic 2023 season with their performance at the Bands of America Grand National Championships Semi-Finals held in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.  Below is a summary of their accomplishments during the 2023 competitive season:

9/16 – Taylor Band Premiere – 71.5

  • Class 5A – Best Music, Visual, Percussion, General Effect, Color Guard

  • Class 5A Champion

  • Overall Grand Champion

9/23 – Bands of America Central Ohio Regional Championship – Prelims 69.65 / Finals 71.55

  • Prelims – 3rd out of 9 bands in Class AA, 10th out of 27 overall, Outstanding Visual Award

  • Finals – 7th place

  • 9th consecutive season as BOA Regional Finalists

10/7 – Kettering Classic – OMEA – 87.7

  • 3rd Place Class AA

  • Unanimous Superior Ratings from all seven judges

  • Overall Superior Rating – Qualified for State Finals later in the season

10/14 – Miamisburg Marching Band Invitational

  • The Miamisburg Invitational continues to be one of the most-attended MSBA events held each season

  • 18 bands hosted this year

10/28 – Centerville – MSBA – 79.4

  • Class 5A – Best Color Guard, Best Music

  • 2nd in Class 5A

  • 2nd out of 19 bands overall

11/4 – Mid-States Class 5A Class Championships – 81.6

  • 5th Place

11/5 – OMEA State Marching Band Finals – Superior Rating

  • 15th consecutive Superior Rating

  • Unanimous Superior from every judge

11/11 – Bands of America Grand National Championships – Prelims 78.15 / Semi-Finals 76.15

  • 35th overall out of 92

  • 6th place out of 27 in Class AA

  • 3rd place out of 28 schools attending from Ohio

  • Advanced to Semi-Finals for 3rd time in school history
